G'Day and nice to see you in the ‘The Territory!’
Like many of our YPN Members perhaps you’re new to northern Australia, or perhaps you’re a local and keen to learn more about your home ground, so to speak.
The Northern Territory is the cultural melting pot of the top end of Australia. Beyond the warm weather, we boast incredible sunsets, a relaxed lifestyle, close proximity to Asia, a small town community feel and a feast of markets, fantastic food, beverage and entertainment options.
In short, the NT is vast - Darwin is the hub but other regional centres have their own landmarks, attractions and personalities. Beyond the larger dots on the map, there is an avalanche of remote communities and bush towns that have a population of perhaps a handful but provide a whole new world to those who visit.
If you’re working in Darwin you might be based in the CBD - on perhaps Mitchell, Smith or Cavanagh streets or maybe you’re working in a suburb like Parap, Ludmilla, Stuart Park or Millner (just to name a few). By Darwin’s standards, out of town work might be at the LNG plant, perhaps the airport (Marrara) or Berrimah. Either way, you’ll be not far from the action!
While you’re working here, it’s an opportune time to explore, to read more about how to Do The NT as well as join the Young Professionals Network for some of best ways to experience the NT and meet new friends along the way!
